Having a positive body image can be hard sometimes. Especially when we don't feel very good about ourselves. The only way to really love your body is to take care of it and nourish it so it is the healthiest body it can be. Physical fitness plays a major role in the transformation of an unhealthy body to a healthy body.
It all started a year ago for me. I was trying on some pants and yes they fit me but I had a muffin top bigger than a Costco muffin. I felt disgusted. If there is one thing I cannot stand that is having fat hanging over the top of my pants. It just feels very gross to me and I just plain don't like it. You need to love your body and take care of it to be happy.
Last August I started working out. I started a physical fitness program that I put together myself. I jump on a trampoline. I wear ankle weights. I lift weights. I wear stomach sweat bands around my stomach while doing sit ups and stretches. I started taking the stairs every chance I got and I also got some Sketchers walking shoes do to how comfortable they are. Physical exercise is the only way to transform your body for the better. I use to hate physical exercise but now my body and mind crave it.
I have lost a total of 15 pounds this last year on the physical fitness program I put together for myself and went from a size 13 juniors to a size 7-9 juniors. I am only 5'4" and I like my pants around my hips not all the way up to my throat which is how they make most women's pants and I think they just feel disgusting to wear. Most women's pants are not flattering to the woman's body at all.
One really important thing that I feel has helped me besides physical exercise is cleansing my body of toxins once or twice a month. I like my body clean inside and out. I do not feel your body can function to the best of it's abilities if it is full of toxins and garbage keeping it from being healthy. I am also a vegetarian and eat absolutely no meat at all. When I ate meat it just sat in my stomach and I was miserable for days. Plus, the taste and texture is just plain gross to me.
My body has gone through great transformations as far as building muscle and slimming down. My stomach is now flat, I do not have any more muffin tops and I can pretty much grab clothes out of my closet without trying on 15 things to see if they will fit before I wear them.
Another reason I decided to start working out and slimming down is because of the fact I am getting older. I had my daughter 3 months before I turned 40 and my body is more healthy and in shape now then it was before I got pregnant. I am now going to be 48 in 3 days and my body is my temple. I love my body and the way it looks and feels. Yes, of course I would change a few things if I could but over all I have worked hard to get and keep my body in shape this past year.
My only wish is I would have started a physical fitness program and taken care of my body years ago when I was younger but I am taking care of it now and that is what is important. I am 47 in this picture and it was taken May 2014.
For anyone wanting to get in shape and be healthier it is never to late to start taking care of your body. You must love your body. You must nourish your body inside and out for it to be the healthiest body it can be for you.
